About the work
Small Audience is a dvd containing four short films by Anthony Kelly & David
Stalling made in a multiple of 100 with a signed print on the cover. The four
films are:
reheat’s: soundtrack is a collage of noise taken
from recent field recordings and old cassette tape archivals.The visual images
are photographs from a TV screen.
Each picture is taken at the point where two scenes merge, momentarily creating
a 'new' image from the 'dissolving' old scene and the 'emerging' new scene.

kausalität: explores the ideas of repetition and synchronicity (or lack thereof), the dissociation of sight and sound, in which the relationship between matter and cause become concealed within an imagined environment. 3mins 30 secs
different shine: The flickering of
a malfunctioning apartment intercom monitor fuses with the soundtrack. Although
broken, the monitor intermittently transmitts information
to the viewer/receiver. 4 mins 30 secs.
Sweetwater: A series of visual images describe a
journey/progression as the audio level interjects and stutters toward a ‘hinge’ point
whereby the
visual tone regresses as the audio moves on. 1 min
