About the work
These are a series of postcards relevant to Dublin City; each series bearing
the image of a utilitarian building central to the workings of this city. These
series of images offer an alternative view of Dublin- a view concerned with
the provision of essential services to its citizens. I propose that this series
pay homage to some of the most vital edifices in Dublin: the Ringsend Wastewater
Treatment Plant, the Roundstone Water Treatment plant, Pidgeon House Road Powerplant
and the City Corporation Buildings at Woodquay. It is my intention to make
an affordable and playful series of works that deal with the largely invisible,
though crucial workings that charge this City.
